L‘iPhone is the most expensive smartphone from the big brands, and inevitably, this state of affairs pushes apple lovers to find ways to pay for their precious one at a more accessible price. In this context, the craze for the refurbished is more and more felt, and in 2021, the iPhone has largely dominated this “refurb” market if we are to believe the data from Counterpoint. Thus, Apple would have occupied more than 40% of the global refurbished market last year, clearly ahead of Samsung, and very far ahead of Vivo, Huawei and Oppo.
The refurbished market would have jumped by 15% in 2021, with the biggest increases coming from Latin American countries and India (+29% and +25% respectively). Refurbished goods are gaining +10% in Europe and China (again over one year), which is not negligible.
