This year’s iPhone portfolio should be similar to last year’s; again we have four phones in the same sizes and equipment levels. According to the usually accurate informant Ming-Chi Ku, however, a fundamental change will take place next year, which will not please lovers of small phones.
No iPhone Mini next year
It’s no secret that the smallest iPhone 12 mini sells the worst of all last year’s iPhones, yet this year we will see its successor. Probably because its development is at an advanced stage and Apple already has contracted components. Next year, however, the iPhone mini should be removed from the portfolio, with a replacement coming from the other end; The free space is to represent a basic iPhone with a large display. We should look forward to the following phones:
- iPhone 14 and 14 Pro with 6.1 “display
- iPhone 14 Max a 14 Pro Max s 6,7“ displejem
48 megapixels and 8K video
Apple phones for next year are also expected to experience several improvements in the camera. A large 48Mpx sensor should be installed in the position of the main sensor, which should be able to combine information from four adjacent pixels into one virtual one with a size of 2.5 microns. The result should be illuminated 12Mpx photos with minimal noise.
The iPhones of 2022 are also meant to learn how to shoot video in 8K resolution, not only for high-definition screens, but also for use in augmented and mixed reality.
According to Ming-Chi Kua, if we move a year further in the family of apple phones, we can look forward to a periscope telephoto lens and Face ID technology integrated directly into the display. This could finally remove the unsightly cutout at the top of the display. In addition, Kuo adds that at least one iPhone will have a fingerprint reader on the display next year.
