O iPhone 13 began to be produced in Brazil a few months after its debut in the national market. This Wednesday (27), a Brazilian acquired a cell phone unit from Apple assembled in Jundiaí (SP), by Foxconn. But, despite being domestically manufactured, the smartphone continues with the same suggested price: from R$7,599.

The discovery was reported by Twitter. In his profile, João Menicucci said he purchased an iPhone 13 (A2633) identified by the model MLPF3BR/A. The box, which appeared in a photo posted in the same tweet, bore the traditional indication: “Designed by Apple in California. Assembled in Brazil”.
The inscription is similar to what appears on the back of my home iPhone XR, purchased in 2019: “Designed by Apple in California. Brazilian industry. The iPhone 11 also started to be assembled in Brazil in 2020. Now it’s the next generation’s turn – but not all models will be made in Brazil.

This is shown by an analysis carried out by the MagMagazine. As the site recalls, the certificates of technical compliance for mobile phones launched at the end of last year only pointed to manufacturing units in China. The documents were presented when the line was approved at the end of September 2021.
Anatel, however, recently updated the iPhone 12 successor documents. After three revisions, the Foxconn plant in Jundiaí, which is in the state of São Paulo, has been included in the list of manufacturing units. on January 24, 2022. But this change only happened in the conventional variant.
In other words, the Mini, Pro and Pro Max models are not yet made in Brazil.

Despite domestic production, prices remain the same
Manufacturing in Brazil tends to facilitate many processes. But, despite domestic production, Apple has not changed the suggested price of the cellphone. In the brand’s store, the mobile phone continues with the same values announced in 2021: between R$7,599 and R$10,599.
