Steve Jobs’ idea is no longer realized in today’s Apple, which changed its mind to become the most valuable company in the world.
When Steve Jobs ran Apple, the company focused on making very few high-quality products, an idea he vigorously implemented upon his return to the company. At that point we had an iPhone model and an iPad model, but everything has changed. Apple sells right now 8 different iPhone models and 6 iPad modelswith its different configurations and accessories for each.
With the iPhone and the iPad we gradually got used to Apple offering different models, with different specifications and prices. But it wasn’t Steve Jobs’ idea, the co-founder of Apple always wanted to offer the best possible devicean idea that the current Apple has discarded.
The iPad range is now more confusing than ever
The The iPad line has become a real mess, too many devices that are too similar to each other and with little understandable price differences. Until recently we had an iPad Air with the same chip as the iPad Pro, and now we have a new iPad 2022 which is almost identical to the iPad Air and the strangest thing is that they all share the same design.
If we count all the iPad models and their configurations, we find up to 33 different configurations between sizes, storage and versions with 5G. This makes choosing the right iPad really difficult these days.
Also, now all iPads have pretty much the same design, but despite sharing the design, not all iPads are compatible with the same accessories. The new iPad 2022 has its own keyboard and is not compatible with the Apple Pencil 2, which can be even more confusing.
and all this we must add the increase in prices suffered by the iPad after the launch of the new models. All the iPads have arrived, which makes it all the more confusing. Previously the iPad Pro was around 900 euros, now it is over 1,000, the iPad Air costs 650 and has increased by 100 euros, like the iPad mini. And not to mention the “entry iPad”, which now costs almost 600 euros.
Apple has changed in the last few years, in a way under pressure from financial results. If you have to outdo yourself every quarter, you have to sell more, and to sell more you have to make concessions by offering more different models. Curiously, this was the 90s Apple with Steve Jobs out of the company, which changed dramatically after the co-founder returned.
