The investigator violates NBA rules and is forced to quarantine

Rachel Nikols, a journalist for the sports channel ESPN, reports the incident. On Saturday, Porziņģis forgot to go to the medics to perform the mandatory Covid-19 test prescribed for basketball players before the game.

Porziņģis is currently in voluntary one-day self-quarantine until a negative test result is received. He had to skip Sunday’s game.

Kristaps Porzingis is the latest player who forgot to stop by the nurses station for his daily COVID test here in the bubble. He is now doing the mandatory one-day quarantine until his next negative test result comes back, and will miss today’s Mavericks game.

According to Nichols, the same mistake was made by Denver “Nuggets” forward Paul Milsaps, who also had to miss the game.

Dallas “Mavericks” coach Riks Karlails has stated that Porziņģis was very upset about his forgetfulness. “He just forgot to check,” says the coach. “When that happens, he can’t join the team the next day for security reasons. He will rest today and I trust he will be able to join us again tomorrow.”

The Dallas “Mavericks” and Indian “Pacers” test game before the resumption of the season started on Sunday at 23.00 Latvian time.
