The investigation into the murder of the head of the Municipal Police of Ayutla continues

The investigation into the armed attack where the head of the Municipal Police of Ayutla, San Marcos, died, continues by the authorities. This Thursday another municipal employee died in another armed attack in the same department.

The armed incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in the western region of the country in broad daylight on one of the streets of the municipality.

The head of the Municipal Police, Wslen Eladio Sarceño Leiva died at the scene. Like agent Joglin Chilel Rodríguez. Both were on patrol in the Esquipulas area, located in the main city of Ciudad Tecún Umán, when they were attacked.

The official account of the Municipality of Ayutla expressed its condolences through its official Facebook account.

“How Municipality we join the pain that seizes the families of the gentlemen who in life were: Wslen Eladio Sarceño Leiva chief of the Municipal Police and the element Joglin Yonathan Chilel Rodríguez, people who performed their work for our Municipality for several years.
Let’s raise a prayer that God grant him eternal rest. May he rest in peace”, they placed in their message.

According to initial reports from the authorities, a group of armed individuals ambushed the vehicle in which the uniformed men were.

The patrol was stopped in the middle of the street with multiple large-caliber firearm perforations due to the armed attack. Several videos circulated on social networks where the magnitude of the attack can be appreciated.

Leiva’s body was found inside the car, while Chilel Rodríguez was found seriously injured some 20 meters from the vehicle.

The relief forces transferred him to a hospital, but he died on admission.

The investigation indicates that several individuals in a vehicle with foreign license plates intercepted them, shot them and fled the scene.

On the morning of this Thursday, August 31, Volunteer Firefighters reported a new armed attack in the Las Delicias subdivision, again in Ayutla.

Upon arrival, they located a man identified as Maynor González, who was supposedly going to work when he was the victim of the armed attack.

The lifeguards transferred him to the Coatepeque hospital, but as a result of the head injuries, he died during admission.

The first versions indicate that González worked in the collection area of ​​the Municipality of Tecún Umán, San Marcos.
