The first was charged under Part 1 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder), the second – under Part 5 of Art. 33, part 1 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (aiding murder). As one of the possible motives for committing a crime, “personal hostile relations” were named. According to the investigation, Sergei Dunin from the firearms of his accomplice “fired a series of shots into the head and torso of his friend, the latter died on the spot from the injuries he received.” Then the accomplices “took the body out of the city and hid its remains on the territory of one of the coal mines.” In the message of the TFR it is noted that the crime in Kuzbass remained unsolved for a long time and after a personal reception by the chairman of the TFR Alexander Bastrykin, the relative of the deceased, the case was transferred to the central office of the department.
Investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the department established in detail the victim’s daily routine on the eve of the disappearance, the circle of his contacts and acquaintances, each of whom was then checked for involvement in the crime, and analyzed the telephone calls of persons passing through the case. As a result of these actions, it was possible to identify the suspects and bring charges against them.
