“The situation on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border is unpredictable and this is its greatest difficulty. Today I held an operational meeting with the participation of the military and civilian leadership of Lviv in order to understand how we will act in case of an escalation from Belarus,” the mayor wrote.
As a result of the meeting, it was decided to create a defense headquarters in each district of the city and to conduct additional training of the terrorist defense. However, there are no plans to transfer TROs to round-the-clock duty.
The authorities are also considering the option of forming reserve volunteer battalions from employees of the City Council and utilities.
In addition, the city will continue to form a strategic reserve of products in case supply lines are blocked.
Sadovoy urged the townspeople to prepare for the cold winter and ensure the possibility of heating without gas.
“It is important that the people of Lviv know that the city is safe, and the enemy should not have enough information to carry out provocations,” the mayor added.
