Freudenfelds, who can also be proud of having worked at Radio SWH for thirty years, tells the host Jānis Šipkēvics: “People also can’t really understand – whether I am a TV person, or a radio person, or a stage person. I myself can’t really define it that way, where am I? Probably, if you are connected to such drawing and showing off, then you need to let go on all fronts.”
It is known that Freudenfeld is also known as a real joker. His participation in the morning show “Bee Bee Breakfast” alone is legendary. Asked about how he got into joking, he reveals that it started already during his studies at the Riga Industrial Polytechnic. “That’s when I started stuttering. There was a dramatic group, I tried to enter the comedy genre, but I had to play more tragic roles as well. That’s how the stage grew with it,” says Freidenfeld.
Later, he also served in the army and realized there: “If you are a comedian, no matter – in life or on stage, then you will go far, then it is good. Everyone is going to dig holes from here until lunch time, but in the meantime you will crack jokes somewhere in the culture house, maybe at the sergeants’ or officers’ banquet. I realized that, yes, this path is easy.”
