The Internet was flooded with a wave of videos “from Ukraine”. It is a scam

While it’s flattering that Arma 3 simulates modern warfare so realistically, we’re certainly not happy that it could be mistaken for real combat footage and used as war propaganda. This has happened in the past (the Arma 3 videos allegedly depicted conflicts in Afghanistan, Syria, Palestine, and even between India and Pakistan), but now this content has grown in popularity in connection with the current conflict in Ukraine. We have tried to combat such content by reporting these videos to platform providers (FB, YT, TW, IG, etc.), but this has been very ineffective. For every video removed, ten more are uploaded every day. We have found that the best way to address this issue is to actively partner with major media and fact-checking firms (such as AFP, Reuters and others) who have the greater reach and capabilities to effectively combat the spread of fake news.
