KOMPAS.com – The internet on earth can die for months due to Sun storm extreme.

Thus warning researchers in the United States.

These natural phenomena and their effects are described in a study entitled “Sola Superstorms: Planning for an Internet Apocalypse”.

The research was compiled by Sangeetha Abdu Jyothi, an assistant professor at the University of California, Irvine, USA.

According to Jyothi, the existing infrastructure on earth is not yet ready to face extreme and large-scale solar storms.

He said, the sun often sends magnetically charged particles to the earth at a certain speed. This phenomenon is also known as the solar wind.

Solar wind comes out of the layer of the sun called the corona. These particles are then released in large numbers, following solar flares and other eruptions.

Solar winds are charged particles of plasma consisting of a mixture of protons and electrons (magnetic particles), plus some heavier elements.

Magnetic particles are sent in a reasonable amount and speed, can be repelled by the outer layer of the Earth.

However, over time, the solar wind can become a major solar storm.
