The “Port Burgas” international regatta is the biggest sailing event in the country for more than 20 years. In the 31st edition, which will take place from April 27 to May 1, nearly 250 competitors from Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Turkey and Ukraine will participate.

The best sailors will compete in the Optimist class, ILKA 4, 420, Finn and the Olympic classes ILKA 6, ILKA 7 and 470.

An international jury and judges from Greece, Turkey and Bulgaria will determine the winners. The organizer of the attractive regatta for keel yachts is the “Port Burgas” yacht club, together with the Port of Burgas and the Municipality of Burgas.

“Similar events are held in many countries around the world, among the most famous are Kiel Sailing Week in Germany, Yers Sailing Week in France, Miami Sailing Week in the USA, Istanbul Sailing Week in Turkey, etc. The Burgas Sailing Week is deservedly ranked among the best in the world, and the race is one of the few Bulgarian regattas included in the sports calendar of World sailing for 2024”, said the chairman of the “Port Burgas” yacht club Evgeniy Mavrodiev.

According to the program, it is planned that the individual races will be held in front of the central beach of Burgas.

The sailing week will start with a Parade of participants, which will pass in front of the Marine Station.

The spectacular event is planned for around 13 hours on Sunday and is part of the first for the Southern Black Sea coast camping festival “Explore the world”. On April 27 and 28, the camping, caravanning and outdoor festival exhibition will gather lovers of this type of vacation from all over the country at the Sea Station.

The latest models of campers, tents, off-road vehicles, as well as sports and leisure options will be presented.
