On December 13, 2022 on the Facebook page Thai Khu Fah UNAIDS has named Thailand a “Global Leader in the Fight against AIDS” and was the first country in Asia-Pacific to eliminate mother-to-child transmission of HIV.

Thailand was the first country in the Asia-Pacific region to be certified to eliminate mother-to-child transmission of HIV in 2016 and has been successful in the fight against AIDS. A 65 percent drop in AIDS cases, a 58% drop in new infections
Thailand is also a leader in integrating HIV services into the universal health coverage program. This is a response mechanism for sustainable HIV solutions.
These findings will set an example for countries to truly translate the will of UNAIDS into action. It will be shared and learned by the 22 UNAIDS Member States, as well as AIDS advocacy and civil society organizations from around the world at the 51st UNAIDS PCB Conference.
