The international festival “March Music Days” has started in Ruse –

/View Info/ The festival offers a strong selection of Bulgarian and international artists and ensembles from 14 countries of Europe and the world, about 700 participants, 40 events, debuts, premieres, educational projects, master classes and exhibitions.

The attractive list of participants includes guest artists of the caliber of the great Russian violist and conductor Yuri Bashmet and the Moscow Soloists Ensemble, the outstanding German baritone Matthias Goerne, the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic solo team, the remarkable Signum Saxophone Quartet together with the unique Lithuanian accordionist Martynas Levickis , the popular Czech quartet “Clarinet Factory”, the Sofia Philharmonic, the famous master of the old Italian song tradition Marco Bisli with his ancient ensemble, the world-famous Chinese conductor Leo Kuokman, as well as the favorites of the Bulgarian audience – the internationally recognized Russians Svetlin Rusev, Evgeni Bojanov and Marieta Petkova , Mincho Minchev, Nikolay Minchev and others.

The Ruse festival scene is a powerful stimulus for the development and promotion of local bands and artists. Traditionally, their participation in the upcoming edition of the festival is also strong. Here in the first place is the production of the State Opera – Ruse with the Bulgarian premiere of one of the most attractive titles in the work of R. Strauss – “The Knight of the Rose” (conductor N. Todorov and director the world-famous Bulgarian Vera Nemirova), a premiere which will undoubtedly become one of the events for the musical life of Ruse and the country. The role of the other participants from Ruse is also key: Choir “Danube Sounds”, choir “Prof. Vasil Arnaudov”, as well as the third “edition” of the Ruse Festival Orchestra with Emil Tabakov, whose brilliant concert program will motivate and attract to Ruse for the third time in a row different generations of talented graduates of the Ruse National School of Arts “Prof. V. Stoyanov” from all over the world.

The third edition in a row in 2017 will also feature the attractive educational series for children and youth “March Music Days Junior”, which will attract a large audience of children and youth to the festival halls and spaces.

The 26th edition of the International Academy of Music “Prof. Sasha Popov” for the improvement of young musicians. In 2017, the academy will offer dozens of young professionals a remarkable international team of teachers, including artists and teachers from the class of M. Minchev (violin), the world-famous Bulgarian opera singer Darina Takova (soprano), musicians from the saxophone quartet “Signum” and M Levitskis (accordion), as well as the Russian E. Bojanov (piano).
