/ world today news/ /The “Bachvarova” law for the Ministry of the Interior did not pass the internal parliamentary committee. Six MPs gave the green light to the changes in the Law on the Interior, which upset the police, three were categorically “against” and seven declared themselves “abstain”.
Already at the beginning of today’s session of the law “it was not going well”. Socialist Krasimir Yankov asked that he not be seen because of the tremors he created.
The chairman of the internal commission, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, did not accept the argument of the red deputy, after which Yankov turned to the former minister of internal affairs: “This law casts doubt on your professional point of view.”
In Yankov’s opinion, Rumiana Bachvarova’s project changes the law adopted a year ago on the force department, proposed by Tsvetan Tsvetanov. However, the chairman of the internal committee was not moved.
“Some parties make reforms, others stop them,” Rumiana Bachvarova also commented. She pointed out that her project did not deny the “Tsvetanov” law, but developed it further.
“It is better to try to do something than to do nothing”, she is also convinced.
Bachvarova insisted on support for the law so that the Ministry of Interior could modernize. According to her, if the project were to pass, there would certainly be better results in the Ministry of the Interior.
The MP from the left, Atanas Merdzhanov, accused Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, who, as the chief secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, did not help the department to reform. The socialist stressed that since 2001, nothing has been done in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. We do not agree with the cutting of social rights, he added.
The left is against the transfer of ministerial powers to the professional leadership. This is an escape from responsibility, we do not agree, emphasized Atanas Merdzhanov.
According to him, the changes were inappropriate at the moment given the demotivation of the police force. There must be reforms, but reforms are not made at the end of the second year of a government, the red deputy believes.
DPS announced that they will abstain. There were texts that supported and those that did not. According to them, the negative opinion of the police union was disturbing.
ABV also did not hide their concerns about the law.
The oppositionist reformer Atanas Atanasov also jumped on the “Bachvarova” project, stressing that it aims for savings at the expense of the “Rabotna Zaplata” Fund. He is also against the chief secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs becoming the chief personnel officer.
Tsvetan Tsvetanov pointed out that there were many good proposals in the project, but they did not meet the expectations in the “Security” sector, nor the promises of GERB in the sector. There is no real communication between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the internal commission, he criticized Bachvarova again. I still don’t know who proposed this bill, emphasized the chairman of the internal committee.
“Ms. Bachvarova, you are bringing negatives at someone else’s expense,” he addressed the minister and emphasized that she had not been able to understand the law well.
After the project did not receive the support of the relevant committee, the minister declared that he would not resign. She explains the vote by the deputies as a misunderstanding of the intentions of the law, as well as the reluctance of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to reform.
