Explosive demandThe intelligence service should monitor Swiss state prosecutors
Swiss “Reich citizens” are becoming more and more of a problem for the authorities. Zurich cantonal police have now put in a request for members of the scene to monitor the secret service.
-
The Zurich cantonal police recently submitted a request to the federal intelligence service for an investigation into the state’s plaintiffs.
-
According to the law, the FIS can sometimes use intrusive methods in research to obtain information about people or the organization.
-
Dirk Baier, professor of criminology at the University of Zurich, says there is definitely a threat from state prosecutors.
That happened
In Switzerland, there is more public talk about fact-finding on state prosecutors for the first time. The “NZZ am Sonntag” had access to a request from the Zurich Cantonal Police, which asked the Federal Intelligence Service, or NDB in short, to open an investigation.
“Such a test procedure appears to be non-binding; but no. It would already lead to the investigation of important information on the affected state plaintiffs,” wrote the NZZ.
This happens in test mode
The intelligence service maintains a watch list of individuals or groups classified as a threat to Switzerland. It is not known how many people or organizations are currently included as the list is kept secret.
“Invasion of privacy is treated with the utmost restraint. The new ways of obtaining information in the NDG (Information Service Act, ed.) are only provided if they have been previously approved in three cases: the Federal Administrative Court, the Security Committee of the Federal Council and the head of the DDPS, ” it says on a federal website.
Nevertheless, great measures could be used in the search procedure so that it would be possible to obtain “all the necessary information”. The NZZ, for example, investigates or collects information about political activity or the exercise of that person’s freedom of expression and freedom of assembly.
That’s what the authorities say
The news service’s media office is keeping a low profile on the subject. She did not comment to the NZZ on whether or how the service decided on Zurich’s claim. This is marked as confidential. Zurich cantonal police only confirmed to the newspaper that a corresponding complaint had been filed.
These are state plaintiffs
State prosecutors are people who… the state as children give an account They don’t pay taxes or print imaginary ID cards. Some authorities are also known as “paper terrorists” when they attack the office with legal letters. In Germany, these people are called Reichsbürger.
It is not clear how many people belong to the movement.
This danger comes from them
“Swiss state prosecutors have an adequate capacity for violence. That is why it is right for the intelligence service to monitor them,” Dirk Baier, professor of criminology at the University of Zurich and Zurich University of Applied Sciences, told the NZZ.
Their preference for guns, for example, is dangerous: “There have been incidents across Switzerland in recent years when state protesters threatened police officers with weapons.” In Germany, citizens of the Reich have even shot police officers.
