The integration of the Science module with the ISS continues despite the incident

NASA announced that air continues to flow from the station, with a volume of about a kilogram per day

The integration of the Russian science module “Science” with the International Space Station (ISS) continues and there is no reason to worry, TASS reported, citing Russian cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky. He is on board the ISS.

After the connection of “Nauka” with the ISS yesterday, the engines of the Russian module started unplanned. This changed the position of the ISS by 45 degrees. The situation has not endangered the life of the station’s crew, NASA and Roscosmos are adamant.

However, the problem slowed down the work of Russian astronauts. An investigation is underway into the reasons that led to the unplanned inclusion of the engines of the “Science” module.

“Friends, I have read your many comments. Don’t worry! Our work at the International Space Station to integrate the newly arrived science module continues,” Nowitzki wrote on Instagram. He expects the hatches to open tonight.

NASA said it was still leaking air from the ISS, with a volume of about a kilogram a day. The leak is from a hatch in the service module. “The air leak is insignificant. It doesn’t bother us,” NASA’s Joel Montalbano was quoted as saying by TASS. He did not link the air leak to the incident after the docking of the Russian Science module.

Air leaks from the ISS were registered for the first time in August 2018. After the repairs in March 2021, its volume decreased significantly. The ISS crew continues to search for and seal cracks from which air is leaking.
