A 300,000-pound batch of thunderous fireworks is allowed In the Netherlands not be sold. According to the Inspectorate of Human Environment and Transport, the fireworks do not comply with the standards for consumer fireworks.

Earlier this week, German police discovered around 250,000 kilos of heavy fireworks which, according to police, were intended for illegal sale to Dutch private individuals. It was stored in bunkers in a former military complex in Ochtrup, just across the border from Enschede.
