The Toyota Kijang Innova Zenix has completely changed. In addition to the appearance that carries a new look, the Toyota Kijang Innova also adopts a new platform. How comfortable is the Innova Zenix when used on long trips?
To prove this, detikOto together with detikTravel and detikFood are back on a road trip titled “Road trip 3,800 Km Jakarta-Aceh with Toyota Innova Zenix”. The journey is taken from Jakarta to Sabang as far as 3,800 km.
We started our journey from the detikcom office in the Transmedia Building, Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta, to Lampung, Palembang (South Sumatra), Muara Bungo (Jambi), Payakumbuh-Bukittinggi (West Sumatra), Balige-Simalungun-Samosir-Medan (North Sumatra) , Lhokseumawe-Banda Aceh and finished at the Indonesian Kilometer Zero Point in Sabang.
There are two units of the Kijang Innova Zenix that were tested. The first Kijang Innova Zenix type V petrol and another Kijang Innova Zenix type Q Hybrid TSS Modelista. Kijang Innova Zenix type Q Hybrid TSS Modelista uses captain seats in the second row. While the petrol version uses a regular seat.
Speaking of comfort as a passenger, the two types of Innova Zenix are very comfortable to ride. Innova Zenix offers ample legroom for both front and rear passengers. So, passengers can stretch out without fighting over space with the passengers in front of them or behind them.
For a tester with a height of 178 cm, sitting as a passenger in the first row, especially in the second row, is very comfortable. Especially in the Innova Zenix type Q with Captain Seat with Ottoman. The seat adjustments are electric and there are leg rests which add to the comfort.
The suspension dings aren’t bouncing, but they aren’t hard either. Driving with the Innova Zenix doesn’t make you nauseous. One of our team has carsickness, even if it’s only a short walk. But when riding the Innova Zenix, for about two weeks on the road from Jakarta to Sabang, our team didn’t experience any carsickness at all. In that sense, the slam of the suspension does not make the driver and passengers sick.
The suspension isn’t too hard either. So, when passing through damaged roads along Sumatra roads, it is still comfortable to use.
The features on the Innova Zenix also make traveling more comfortable. Call it digital air conditioning, audio that pampers the ears, to an entertainment system with a 10-inch screen in the second row of seats that has several functions, such as playing music, videos, YouTube, and watching Netflix.
