The Initiative is working on a third-person shooter, according to a rumor

The Initiative is working on a third-person shooter, according to a rumor. Microsoft created its last first party studio, The Initiative, a couple of years ago, and although we know they are working on a major AAAA production, we still don’t know what kind of project it is, although some reports have assured that it would be a game. set in the Perfect Dark universe (but not as a Perfect Dark game per se), and now, new details of the project may have emerged.

Recently during the Xbox Two podcast, Rand al’Thor and Jez Corden from Windows Central, they talked about the game, and provided some pretty cool details. As previous leaks have mentioned, the studio’s debut game is a game set in the Perfect Dark universe, but specifically The Initiative would be working on a third-person shooter, something that Jeff Grubb already assured a couple of months ago.

Apparently, The Initiative will surprise in its approach, since a recent rumor has suggested that the studio’s project would arrive seasonally, specifically taking as an example Black Mirror, the television series produced by Netflix. Furthermore, curiously, The Initiative’s work is also being compared to Remedy Entertainment’s approach, and being described as “somewhat experimental.”

It is also stated that we will hear more about the game soon, perhaps even in celebration of The Game Awards this Thursday. And it is that some rumors assure that Microsoft would be preparing an important announcement during the gala, something likely, if we consider that it was there where last year they announced Xbox Series X.
