If all roads do not lead to Notre-Dame-du-Laus, the sanctuary does not lack access. There are those who park at the bottom and go up in front of the basilica. Or those driving around above. The site redevelopment project, named “Le Laus 2025”, wants to solve this. “We first thought of a reception kiosk. However, there is a real question of the flow of pilgrims. We don’t know which way to get to Laus”, confirms Mgr Xavier Malle, bishop of the diocese of Gap and Embrun.
Delivery expected early July
The “Laus 2025” program began on May 24, 2021 with the site of the reception center, valued at 2.3 million euros, and that of the large hall, at some 600,000 €. The end of the work is scheduled for July 3, before the summer season, a key moment for the sanctuary. A calendar for the time being respected, rejoices Bishop Malle. “This visitor center combines the bar and the store.
