The infernal descent usually kicks off the summer season in Bourges, but we will have to do without it again this year. Last year, the soapbox race which attracts thousands of spectators on the Marceau ramp, had already been canceled due to the health situation. The organizers nevertheless want to plan on an edition in 2022: the date has been chosen. It will be June 25, 2022.

This year, it was not reasonable to consider it especially as a certain number of companies which set up teams, did not register. It mortgages part of the budget. In short, the conditions were not met for this popular festival: ” The health context is obviously not favorable “explains Philippe Sinault, head of the Signature group:” We did not see how to bring together 10 to 15,000 people on the Marceau ramp, under sufficient security conditions, and we wanted to be responsible by giving up this year. Common sense won out. We also looked at the membership of companies that help us organize the event. The conditions were not met. And then the state of mind that drives us at the moment is not the most appropriate. For all these reasons, it seems more reasonable to us to plan for 2022. It is obvious that the event activity here is very affected by the context. Without state aid, we would no longer be here. We have to admit it. The postponement of this event is not good news for us either, but we will be there in 2022. We promise! “
