The Indonesian squad trains for the first time ahead of the Asian Mixed Team Badminton Championships

VIVA Sport – Even though it was only for an hour, the Indonesian players looked so enthusiastic and excited to practice. For the first time, the Garuda squad will be able to experience the arena that will host the 2023 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships.

“This exercise is to restore the condition of the players. Indeed, the training only takes about an hour. Even though it is short, this exercise is still useful for maintaining the fitness of the players,” said the Head of Binpres PP PBSI, Rionny Mainaky as quoted in an official statement released Sunday, 12 February 2023.

This inaugural practice is part of preparations for the mixed team championship which will be held at the Dubai Exhibition Center, Dubai, on 14-19 February 2023. As many as 17 teams, including Indonesia, are ready to compete to be the best in Asia.

On Sunday morning, the Indonesian team will be given training sessions in the main hall and practice hall. In the arena, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and friends got the chance to practice on two courts. Meanwhile, in the warm-up arena, three courts will be allocated.

From 09.00 local time the players practice. Alternately the players according to their respective sectors, practice in the arena and in the warm-up area.

At the match venue which provides four courts, the two fields provided for the morning training session for the Indonesian team are on the outer right and left sides. All players can take turns experiencing training on the playing field as well as training on the warm-up court.
