Coach Indonesian National team Shin Tae Yong admitted that he would reprimand the Indonesian national team players after they did not perform as expected when they beat Cambodia 4-2 in the 2021 AFF Cup (AFF 2021 AFF Cup).

The Indonesian national team managed to start the struggle in the 2021 AFF Cup with a victory over Cambodia.

Unfortunately, the Indonesian national team conceded two goals in this match through Yue Safi’s header in the 37th minute and Prak Mony Odom’s free kick.

In the press conference after the match, Shin Tae Yong admitted that he was not satisfied with the Indonesian national team’s game in general.

“Indeed we could have scored four goals, but the game was not what I wanted. Not to 50 percent of what I wanted. I will talk to the players so they understand my instructions,” said Shin Tae Yong after the game.

“Players think our opponents are easy. It’s a player’s fault and I will reprimand them. This must be corrected,” said Shin.

According to the South Korean coach, there are several notes that must be addressed from the Indonesian national team to perform better in the next match.

“We have some homework to fix. For the next match we will fix the defense problem. There will be several players who will join later, including Elkan Baggot,” said Shin.

“Factor hasn’t played in official matches for a long time [juga mempengaruhi]. So the players are surprised about the concentration, this will be the focus of our improvement. What is clear, we are grateful for the three points and grateful for the support of the Indonesian people.”
