Indonesian U-19 National Team keep hope of qualifying for the semifinals AFF U-19 Cup 2022. Victory over Filipina 5-1 makes the chances of the big four still there.
Indonesia packed its second win in the 2022 AFF U-19 Cup, against the Philippines. Competing at Patriot Chandrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi, Friday (8/7/2022), Garuda Nusantara won 5-1.
Appearing with a slightly different line-up, Shin Tae-yong’s team still looks fierce. In the first half, a 3-1 advantage can be obtained.

Three goals were scored, each through two Rabbani Tasnim penalties and one Alfriyanto Nico goal. Meanwhile, one goal for the Philippines was obtained by Justin Lawrence.
In the second half, Indonesia could add two more goals. Rabbani got his hat-trick, followed by a goal from Razza Fachrezi. Until the match ended, the 5-1 victory remained for Indonesia.
This victory makes Indonesian U-19 National Team collected 8 points in Group A AFF U-19 Cup 2022, the result of two wins and two draws. Indonesia is currently in third place, behind Vietnam and Thailand, which both have collected 10 points.
With one match remaining, namely against Myanmar, Indonesia’s chances of reaching the semifinals are still maintained. Indonesia can still qualify through goal productivity or winning points from Vietnam or Thailand in the last match.
Against Myanmar, Indonesia must win to be able to produce 11 points. In order to qualify through the points route, Indonesia must expect Vietnam and Thailand to beat each other at the same time. Because, the loser will be overtaken by the points by Indonesia.
Meanwhile, if Vietnam and Thailand draw, both will collect 11 points. If Indonesia wins, the points will also be 11 points. In that situation, Indonesia’s chance to qualify can be obtained through goal productivity.
Indonesia now has quite a lot of goal savings, which is +11. While the number of goals Indonesia is superior to Vietnam (+9) and Thailand (+6). If Vietnam and Thailand are 0-0, or 1-1, and Indonesia wins and can still maintain its goal difference above its two competitors, then Indonesia can qualify for the semifinals.
