University professor and director of the Institute of Criminal Law at the Bar Association, he gives courses and seminars for young lawyers who want to become criminal lawyers. He is passionate about academic activity, but even more so about the exercise of his profession, that is why he is a professor of Criminal Law at the National University of La Matanza.
One of the most emblematic cases in which he had to work was in the defense of Julio Vittone, the young man accused of lighting three flares at the Cromañon bowling alley. Almost inexplicably, Lopez Carribero managed to close the case and definitively.
Another case in which he left his mark as a criminal lawyer was that of Bernardo Garay Ocampo, the so-called “Justice of Villa Madero”, the woman who took the life of one of the thieves who had robbed her house. For experts, in the judicial environment, it was a full-fledged murder in which the woman had no way of getting away. But the lawyer managed to convince the judge that the woman was innocent.
Since then, in 2007, he began to be called El Penalista del Conurbano, a serious and precise slogan to show the man and his temperament.
Although López Carribero also takes cases in the Federal Capital Courts, his area of interference has always been the Conurbano, where he has also lived since 1970. A few years ago he traveled to the United States where he did his postgraduate degree in litigation of trials by jury at Western Schcool of Law USA.
