The price of gold continued to decline today, Thursday, in Egypt, and the gram fell by 5 pounds, during evening trading, with the metal falling globally, after the US Federal Reserve raised the rate of interest yesterday.
And the price of one gram of gold fell by £ 15 at the start of trading, to continue its decline in the middle of trading through to evening transactions, bringing the value of the drop throughout the day so far to £ 25.
And the Federal Reserve (the US central bank), yesterday, Wednesday, announced to raise the interest rate by 0.75%.
This is the sixth consecutive time that the Fed has raised interest rates since the beginning of this year and is the fourth time that it has raised the yield by 75 points year-on-year.
After this increase, the level of interest rates in the Federal Reserve reached between 3.75 and 4%.

Prices for 14-karat gold have dropped to 790 pounds per gram.
And the price of 18-karat gold has dropped to 1016 pounds per gram.
And the price of 21-karat gold has dropped to 1185 pounds per gram.
And the price of 24-karat gold has dropped to 1354 pounds per gram.
