The incorporation of the hexavalent vaccine to the regular vaccination scheme, free of charge for the entire population, is a fact that helps in the universality of services and health equity for the population. Hexavalent protects against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis B, Haemophilus influenzae B, and poliomyelitis.
The application of the vaccine began on Monday, June 19, it is administered to those born from April 2023 onwards, at 2, 4, 6 and 18 months of life.
Figures from the Expanded Immunization Program indicate that, so far, 3,355 vaccines have been applied to boys and girls throughout the country, highlighting that 52 children who had started schemes in the private sector are incorporated into the public system.
What happens to those born before April 2023?
Boys and girls who were born before April 2023, and who have already received the pentavalent and anti-polio vaccine, should continue with the vaccination schedule they have started, since they protect against the same diseases as the hexavalent vaccine, and it is not planned interchangeability.
As for the boy or girl who has started their hexavalent vaccination scheme in the private sector, who already had this vaccine, they can complete it in any of the public services.
Digital vaccination booklet
The children’s vaccination booklet can be obtained digitally, following these steps:
1. You can access the record of the vaccination book, through the page Paraguay.gov.py. It is necessary to have created the electronic identity. If you do not have it, you can create it, completing all the required information in the same link and, later, you will be able to access your son or daughter’s vaccination booklet.
2. If you already have an account or created one recently, when you log in, enter “My Documents”, there you will find the HEALTH section, in the section “Vaccination Book Certificate-Children”, when you click, you will automatically be able to access to your son or daughter’s vaccination record.
3. If the data from the children’s vaccination records is incomplete, the parents should go to a health service, with the physical notebook, so that those in charge of the health region, from any part of the country, can transcribe the records. those records and thus have the book complete and updated.
4. Once the document is generated, the name of your son or daughter should appear. If you have more than one child, select the one for whom you want to obtain the certificate. If, when generating the document, you receive a message that it is not possible to find data, it is possibly because the personal records of the children are not linked to the ID number of the parents, so if this happens, you should go to a service of health, requesting that said data be linked. Once updated, wait 12 hours for the servers to be refreshed, and repeat the entire previous process to obtain the notebook.
5. Once the data has been verified, the document is generated and is ready to be downloaded in PDF format.
