The seven-day cumulative incidence of coronavirus in the population aged 60 and over increased by 17% in the province of Teruel. Despite this, the number of hospitalizations in Teruel has been reduced.
The Ministry of Health’s report of the main monitoring indicators of covid-19 made public this Friday (with data up to Wednesday 5 October) reflects that the weekly rate of covid-19 in Teruel is 129 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, compared to 110 cases from the previous week. With this figure, it ranks as the eleventh Spanish province with the highest value. Huesca leads the incidence at seven days in this age group, with 300 cases per 100,000.
By contrast, the cumulative incidence of fourteen days in Teruel still shows a slight decrease, with 239 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, compared to 249 cases in the previous week, or 3.61% less. It is the thirteenth province in the country with the highest rate. Huesca is still in the lead, breaking the barrier of 500 cases per 100,000 (specifically, 525).
One figure that has improved is the rate of covid hospitalizations in acute care beds, which has gone from 9.66 new patients per 100,000 beds to 5.95.
According to the latest official data updated on Friday on the Transparency Portal of the Aragon Government, the Teruel hospitals had six beds occupied by covid patients this Thursday, four less than a week ago. There have been no changes in the Bishop Polanco Hospital of the Capital, with four hospitalizations. Meanwhile, at the Hospital de Alcañiz, they have gone from six to two patients.
In Aragon on Thursday, hospitals treated 105 covid patients (three in intensive care), 23 more than the previous week.
As for the transmission in the population as a whole, the latest data collected in the Transparency Portal are from Monday 3 October. Compared to the previous Monday (September 27), there was a 29% decrease in the cumulative incidence of covid over seven days, from 55 cases per 100,000 to 39 cases. The fourteen-day cumulative incidence also decreased, from 95 cases per 100,000 this Monday and 110 cases on the previous Monday.
In Aragon the weekly rate went from 48 to 52 cases per 100,000 (8.33% more). The regional increase in incidence at fourteen days is 19%, from 84 to 100.
