The decision means that organizers of already planned concerts and the like in December who must reduce the number of physical participants or visitors to the event, will be able to apply for the scheme and receive any support paid in retrospect.
– To provide some more security for the industry to dare to plan and carry out concerts and other cultural activities, we are now introducing the stimulation schemes again from 8 December, says Minister of Culture Anette Trettebergstuen (Labor) to NTB, and adds:
– The omicron variant hits us all hard and I know very well how difficult it is to plan for events at a time when the infection situation is unpredictable and the rules change at short notice.
Furthermore, she states that the grant can, among other things, be given for the implementation of ticketed cultural events that must reduce the number of physical participants or visitors due to requirements or restrictions related to the corona outbreak.
– This is an important contribution to the entire value chain in the cultural industry because it helps organizers to meet financial obligations to, for example, subcontractors in accordance with agreements entered into, she says.
