Architecture tells the story of a society, thus buildings become an emblematic reference of a community and become part of its identity. In this case, from being originally an 18th century mansion and having gone through several abandonments, this new theater venue finally opened its doors on March 15, 2021.
Regarding its lighting, the office in charge of running the project was 333 Luxes, headed by Elías Cisneros, who, through a detailed analysis of the design in conjunction with the architects and engineers responsible, developed a proposal that could be adapted to the volumes and textures of this space.
The concept of the lighting project for the Mariano Matamoros Theater focuses on three aspects:
- Integration into both restoration and contemporary architecture.
- Visual comfort.
- Provide a memorable experience to people.
To awaken emotions and memorable experiences in this theatrical space, Elías Cisneros’ team sought to increase visual comfort to create an environment that allows a special experience in all the senses of the spectators. Different scenes were also arranged by means of intensities and lighting beams according to the space and the moment in which the activity of the people is found.
Similarly, the specified luminaires have an adequate UGR / VCP index that improves the mood, which influences social interaction in addition to beautifying the space and architecture, without forgetting the glare control for both spectators as well. as for those who are on stage.
Since the Sun has IRC100, the space was designed with luminaires with an IRC> 90, to offer a chromatic reproduction that allows to appreciate colors with high quality, whether in people, textiles, scenographies, food, as well as for greater efficiency in the productivity of activities within the theater.
To respond to the various requirements of staging, presentations or concerts, the lighting in the dressing room area was integrated with a modern “intelliWhite” lighting system, where actors, musicians and users in general can easily operate and intuitive the color temperature and intensity according to what is required in a theatrical work.
