This road tax is mandatory for all vehicles driving on national roads in Romania, otherwise drivers will be fined. But, the fine for the lack of the ruin can be prescribed in 4 months.
Everyone who drives a vehicle on a national road must pay the road tax.
The sticker is valid between 24 hours and 365 days, depending on the selected value.
Value and types of wreckage
The scratch options for cars, classified in Category A:
7 days – 3 euros 30 days – 7 euros 90 days – 13 euros 365 days – 28 euros.
Other categories of vehicles for which the wreckage is mandatory:
Category B: goods transport vehicles with a weight of up to 3.5 tonnes Category C: goods transport vehicles with a weight between 3.5 tonnes and 7.5 tonnes Category D: goods transport vehicles with a weight between 7.5 tonnes and 12 tonnes Category E: goods transport vehicles with a weight of more than 12 tons and a maximum of 3 axles Category F: goods transport vehicles with a weight of more than 12 tons and a minimum of 4 axles Category G: passenger vehicles with a maximum of 23 seats Category H: passenger vehicles with more than 23 seats
In the case of these wreckers, the most expensive is the one for trucks over 12 tons and with more than 4 axles. For a validity of 365 days, it costs 1,210 euros.
Check the wreckage
If you want to know the validity of the car’s road tax, you can check the scrap on siteof the National Road Company (CNADNR).
In the “damage check” section, enter the registration number and chassis series and press “search”.
Thus, you will find out the date on which it was paid and when the road tax expires.
When is the fine prescribed for the lack of damage?
CNADNR installed more than 100 cameras on roads all over the country. They detect, with the help of the registration number, the vehicles for which the toll has not been paid.
The fine for those who do not pay the road tax is between 250 and 500 lei, in the case of cars. But it can also reach 4,500 lei, for heavy tonnage trucks.
However, the fine for the lack of damage is prescribed if the car owner has not received the fine within 4 months of the violation of the law.
How many times can you be fined for not having a vehicle?
Drivers can be penalized only once for the lack of a license plate, during the period in which the penalty was not communicated to them.
„In the interval from the date of commission of the contravention to the date of communication of the report of the finding of the contravention, no other reports of the finding of the contravention can be concluded due to the lack of a valid vignette for the same vehicle“, states OG 15/2002.
This means that, in general, a driver can receive a maximum of two fines for not having a vehicle in a year.
