Since the beginning of this school year, the City Council of Águilas, through the company Lázarus Vital from Aquila, has been carrying out the Educational Program for Driver Education in schools. One of the objectives of this Program is to transmit the important work that parents have in driver education as those responsible for transmitting to their children the attitudes, values and rules of road behavior. For this reason, last week the Francisco Rabal House of Culture hosted a talk-school for parents on the Road Education Program, given by Candela Pérez, pedagogue and training coordinator, together with José Vicente López who spoke about the use and management of the different telematic tools with which the parents of the students can be an active part of the educational program and co-responsible for the development of correct habits in their children in relation to Traffic Education.
“If we want our children to behave in a civic way on the road when they reach adulthood, it is best that they acquire good habits from a very young age,” said Andrés García, head of Lázarus Vital. Along the same lines, the mayor of Education, Francis Gallego, who attended the talk together with the mayoress of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the mayor of Citizen Security, Cristóbal Casado, pointed out that “parents become the first instructor of the child in his road learning and in the model that he will follow in his future behavior. Hence, the collaboration of parents and family members in this Driver Education Program that we promote is essential”.
At an early age, children use public roads as pedestrians or travelers, but always accompanied by adults. For this reason, families should have as a priority objective the promotion of road attitudes, which generate citizen awareness and behaviors aimed at creating a road sense, coexistence and adequate guidelines for safe mobility.
