The importance of managing decisions

The loan of Carles Aleñá to Getafe does not convince me. I can understand the reasons that have led the club and the player to bet on an exit in the form of a loan because he is a footballer who needs to continue growing and that is only achieved by gaining experience and playing regularly, something that at the Camp Nou does not I was doing. However, the feeling is one of improvisation, of not having a strategy designed for this type of case.

It is difficult for me to understand what Barça wins, what benefit it can obtain, with the transfer of Aleñá to a team with a style of play as different from his as Getafe. Regardless of whether he ends up being the protagonist or not, his profile I do not think is the ideal one for the type of football that Bordalás proposes, which forces me to doubt the convenience of the operation. It is clear that playing in the first team of FC Barcelona is very complicated and that not everyone has a place, but the club and its sports managers are obliged to manage their resources with a broad perspective and, above all, away from short-termism. Loans are a resource that must also be planned.

And that happens by drawing up a specific roadmap with each footballer with a very clear objective, their revaluation at a sporting level. This does not happen at Barça, which too often yields to its players because there are too many or even to save their chips and reduce the salary mass. It seems to me a serious mistake because, with a better management of this type of loan, the club would win both at a sporting and economic level. There is the example of Real Madrid, which has been able to make profitable in all aspects the transfers of footballers such as Carvajal to Bayern Leverkusen, Reguilón to Sevilla, Odegaard to Real Sociedad or Achraf to Borussia Dortmund. That is what it is about, to turn this type of operation into a sporting and / or economic benefit in the medium and long term.

Barça should have three or four ‘friendly’ clubs whose football idea is similar to its own and whose sports needs serve so that those who do not have a place in the first team today can have it tomorrow. I understand Aleñá’s position and his desire to continue growing to gain experience, but I think that the operation is not particularly beneficial for Barça since there is no guarantee that he will end up playing everything that he has not played with Koeman. Hopefully he will do it and be very lucky because he is a player that I love, but the issue of transfers will continue to be a pending issue for this club, which must begin to manage them much more effectively.

Women’s football lived a historic day

The derby between Barça and Espanyol at the Camp Nou It was another example of the unstoppable growth that women’s football is having in our country. This game is already part of the history of the Blaugrana section, but it is not only a great step for the entity, but for the sport in general. It was also a well-deserved award for some footballers who dignify the game and that, I’m sure, will be repeated in the future.

I was very happy for Marta Torrejón, whose career I have followed since I was a juvenile and whom I then had the honor of facing. She defended the colors of Espanyol and I those of Barça. SI am very aware of all the sacrifice and effort that those who make up women’s football have made over many years, which is why I am very excited to see that, little by little, unthinkable goals are being achieved relatively recently. There is still a lot to do, but having enjoyed a derby at the Camp Nou is already a huge satisfaction.
