“The Importance of Land Registration for Investment: Insights from the Minister of State Domains and Land Affairs”

The Minister of State Domains and Land Affairs, Mohamed Rekik, affirmed, this Tuesday, May 30, 2023, “the importance of land registration, in terms of consecration of the material and legal state of land”.

Speaking at the symposium of the national association of chambers of bailiffs organized in collaboration with the German association for international legal cooperation (IRZ), under the title “land and investment”, he mentioned real rights arising from registration, giving it value (in terms of mortgage for credit) with financial institutions, and facilitating access to sources of financing, which helps to stimulate investment.

Rekik added that the ministry proceeded, within the framework of the generalization of the system of the land register, with the introduction of the program of governance of the procedures of land registration, as well as their rationalization, by mentioning it in a guide of procedures , in addition to the consolidation of relations between the Office of Topography and Cadastre, and the regional directorates of State domains, via an agreement concluded for this purpose.

He also indicated that his ministry is working to amend the decree governing the rules of organization and management of the methods of intervention of the support fund and the delimitation of land reserves, which makes it possible to expand the parties benefiting of its interventions, in application of the provisions of article 13 of the finance law of the year 2023.
