The Engine Control Unit (ECU) is an important part of MotoGP motorbike technology.

The ECU is the hardware that is the ‘brain’ and regulates all electronic device components on a MotoGP motorbike.

MotoGP motorcycle ECUs are designed by Marelli, an Italian automotive components company.

The function of the ECU is to collect data from various sensors on the motorbike and then use this data to move the engine control actuators.

The movement of the actuator will determine how the MotoGP motorbike engine works properly, including traction control, launch control and anti-wheelie.
