TRIBUNJATIM.COM, SURABAYA – Until now, nutritional problems such as stunting, obesity, and the lack of consumption of foods with balanced nutrition, are still the three main nutritional problems in Indonesia.
On National Nutrition Day (HGN) which is commemorated every January 25, is a reminder of the existence of these nutritional problems.
“Especially in this year where there is pandemic Covid-19. Balanced nutritional intake and a low-salt diet strategy, in order to maintain body immunity, are very important, “explained a nutritionist, dr Johanes Chandrawinata, when he became a resource person for the webinar activities conducted by PT Ajinomoto Indonesia in collaboration with the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI), Sunday (31/1/2021).
According to him, alleviating nutritional problems, especially in the future pandemic Covid-19 as it is now becoming increasingly crucial.
The Covid-19 pandemic requires people to maintain optimal immunity and at the same time maintain and improve body health, to avoid various diseases.

“The immune system is always actively monitoring, but its activity increases if the individual is infected,” continued Dr. Johanes.
This increase in activity is accompanied by an increase in metabolism, which requires a source of energy and materials for biosynthesis and regulatory molecules. The source of energy and material for these regulatory molecules, of course, comes from the diet.
“Therefore, adequate intake of various types of nutrients is very important to support the immune system to function optimally,” explained the doctor who is familiarly called Dr. Jo.
Having a low salt diet is one way to prevent degenerative diseases.
