The average age of imported cars is 10 and a half years, with the share of vehicles older than ten years being 51.4 percent and 21.4 percent older than 15 years.

“In June, July and August, the most used cars were imported from 2008 at the same time,” said Josef Pokorný, secretary of the importers’ association. At the same time, imports were almost the same as in 2019 before the coronavirus crisis.

According to Cebia, used cars on the Czech market rose by 16 percent in the first half of the year to an average price of CZK 245,000.
–
From January to the end of August, 147,659 new passenger cars were sold in the Czech Republic, which represents an increase of 12 percent compared to last year. But it is still 16 percent less than in 2019.

Higher sales are hampered by a shortage of completed cars due to missing chips. In August alone, 16,449 new passenger cars were sold in the Czech Republic.
