FOR THE ATTENTION OF THE HEAD OF STATE, REPRESENTATIVE AND GUARANTEE OF THE INTERESTS OF THE SOVEREIGN PEOPLE OF CAMEROON
1) Considering the opacity of the management of the “Olembe Sports Complex” and the multifaceted risks to which this situation exposes Cameroon’s public finances and the lives of Cameroonians;
2) Considering the enormous economic and social opportunity cost of this project, in view of the glaring lack of our country in terms of economic and social infrastructure, in particular health structures, land and air communication means, housing , as well as the lack of funding for young people wishing to carry out agricultural, livestock and fishing activities, etc .;
3) Considering that the operation of this complex will in no way be able to ensure the service of the related debts, and that these therefore constitute a mortgage on the quality of life of young present and future generations;
We ask the Head of State, representative and guarantor of the interests of the sovereign Cameroonian people, to order a thorough investigation of this project, before any additional financial commitment. This survey should in particular shed light on the following aspects:
a) at the legal level, the material and immaterial damages to which the various contracts signed within the framework of this project are likely to expose the Republic of Cameroon;
b) at the financial level, the statement of actual expenditure already made by component of the project and other financial commitments made for this purpose;
c) at the technical level, the state of execution of the various works planned under the original project.
