The Impact of the Superbuilding Bonus on Italian Public Finances: Economist Warns of Disastrous Consequences

The Superbuilding Bonus which weighs on Italian public finances “was truly the most wicked measure that this country has ever introduced because it is creating disasters”, says economist Veronica De Romanis during the Friday 12 April episode of L’aria che tira , the program hosted by David Parenzo on La7. The Minister of Economy and Finance, Giancarlo Giorgetti, spoke of the “devastating impact of the Superbonus and similar”, in short Giuseppe Conte’s Grilline totem measures. Now in the Def, the “Economy and Finance document which represents the framework within which we can move for the Budget Law”, is “a little mobile because the impact of the 110 bonus is not certain, it always increases more”, explains De Romanis.

But why don’t we still know how much the building bonus can weigh on the accounts? The cost “increases more and more because it depends on how the credit is transferred, but also on the measures that the government will take” which will probably “really try to block it as much as possible”. In any case, “in the coming years there will be an impact on debt because the amount of income is reduced”, says the economist. He doesn’t run away: “The bill now has to be paid, we’ve come from a very long period of free meals where the bill hasn’t been paid.”
