On Monday (11/12) the research team of Jim Wild, who is a physics professor at Rankers University in England, finished publishing the results of a computer modeling study in the international academic journal ‘Space Weather’ which showed that solar storms.

The study shows the possibility of magnetic disturbances and the emergence of train accidents due to solar storms.

The research team also analyzed whether this solar storm could cause magnetic disturbances on Earth.

Disturbances caused by geomagnetically induced currents (GIC) can cause train accidents.

GIC is a phenomenon when the earth’s magnetic field changes rapidly due to changes in weather in outer space, causing electric currents to arise on the earth’s surface. When GIC is formed, problems may occur in the transmission and distribution network.

With more than 50,000 railway lines in the UK, the research team carried out modeling on two routes to understand the influence of GIC on a series of cable-powered lines.
