Much is written about social media. They supposedly give young people depression and a poor quality of life.
Admittedly, this is not supported by research. It only shows a weak connection between social media and miserable life. And it is not even certain that the causal relationship is such that the social media comes first and the depression second. Perhaps it is rather the case that people who are not doing so well in the first place spend more time on social media than others – for lack of other social interaction.
