The situation in the rice warehouse
Manado, BeritaManado.com — The price of rice has recently caused anxiety for the public.
Apart from the increasing price, for a number of shopping places, rice purchases are limited per person, especially if there are promotions.
That is why rice was the biggest contributor to inflation year on year (yoy) in October, namely 1.3137 percent.
Meanwhile, the commodity contributing to deflation was air transport at 0.2556 percent.
Head of the Central Statistics Agency for North Sulawesi Province (BPS Sulut), Asim Saputra, explained that even for mtm it is exactly the same as yoy.
“The biggest contributor to inflation on a month to month (mtm) basis in October 2023 is also rice at 0.5189 percent, while the biggest contributor to deflation is air transport at 0.0374 percent,” said Asim.
Conditions in October 2023, Manado City experienced inflation of 0.94 percent, calendar year inflation of 1.89 percent and year on year (yoy) inflation of 2.24 percent.
Judging from month to month (mtm) inflation, Manado City ranks 2nd in inflation on the island of Sulawesi and also 2nd nationally.
Meanwhile, year on year (yoy) Manado City ranks 11th on Sulawesi Island and 79th nationally.
