Arun Narayanan, the actor and producer of the film Chavera, says that ruining the film by giving a bad review immediately after its release is like cutting a sitting horn. Film is a big money-spending industry. The reviewers are dependent on it. Arun Narayanan, the producer of Chaveer, asks if it is bad to go to a hotel and eat biryani, will you come out and make a video?

Tinu Pappachan, director of the film, said that a good film cannot be ruined by reviews, but bad reviews affect the first day collection of the film. The crew of the movie was talking to the media regarding the promotion of the movie Chavera.

“If you go to a hotel and eat biryani and the food is bad, will you come out and make a video? Would a 20 minute video like this do? It’s just that we won’t go to that hotel again. We are in a big industry. The work you do is also related to cinema. This industry is our survival. We all need to understand that. Everyone is in the same boat, can you stand on one side and push the boat down? Arun Narayanan says, “Isn’t this a case of cutting a sitting horn?”

“If you don’t like the movie, don’t watch it. It will be understood. That’s their business. But it is asked whether it should be made worse in this way. That is for you to decide. There is a petition related to the movie review in the High Court. The court will take a decision on the same after conducting an amicus curiae inquiry. The court is convinced that there is merit in our complaint. The person who investigated it reported that such people are causing great danger in this highly invested industry. Ours is a country that pays a heavy price for what the court has said”- said Arun Narayanan.

“A good film cannot be ruined by reviewing it. But it will affect the opening day collection of a good movie terribly. That is why I agree with what the High Court said. Those who need to review can do it, there is no problem. If it is after a week, it is okay. Your freedom of speech is not at issue. Beyond a filmmaker, there is an investor who pays for the film,” said director Tinu Pappachan.

“In the past, movies were in various categories like average hit and super hit in the theaters of our country. Today there are two categories one is super hit and two is flop. You don’t give yourself a chance to have an average hit. Check it out for yourself. We’re not saying I took a picture and everyone should say it’s great, it’s up to the viewer to decide. Once the film is released, the director or the writer has no rights. That is definitely left up to the audience to decide. But it can also be seen in the way it supports the industry” – says Tinu Pappachan.
