The Impact of Physical Fitness on Prostate Cancer Prevention: New Study Results from Sweden

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in middle-aged men, with the risk increasing with age. A study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine shows the role good physical fitness plays in preventing the disease. A research team from the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences (GIH) in Stockholm examined the health data of 57,652 Swedish men and gained interesting new findings: According to the results, a higher level of fitness was associated with a significantly lower risk of developing a prostate cancer tumor . Even small improvements in cardiorespiratory fitness can actively reduce the risk of cancer. The authors therefore advocate more targeted prevention and once again emphasize the importance of regular physical activity and targeted fitness training for long-term health maintenance.
