The pension point is the most important reference for the financial value that Romanian pensioners receive every month and, at the moment, there are several projects to increase it. But another aspect is more important.
Between 2020 and 2023, Romanians’ pensions benefited from three increases, for a total of 41%. During all this time, the pension point increased from 1265 lei to 1785 lei. These increases happened under the PNL government with a very important mention. The values above do not take into account the percentage of inflation, the decrease in purchasing power during this time or the usual price increases on the shelf.
What happened to Romanians’ pensions in the last three years
The above data were synthesized a few days ago by PNL officials during the Summer School of the National Liberal Seniors Organization, an event meant to reaffirm the liberal party’s commitment to the “generation of experience”. The event was attended by, among others, the president of PNL, Nicolae Ciucă, the general secretary of PNL, Lucian Bode, Cătălin Predoiu, Alina Gorghiu, Raluca Turcan, Mircea Fechet, Marcel Boloș, the president of the National Public Pension House, Virgil Popescu, the president of PNL Constanța , Bogdan Huțucă, and the prefect of Constanța county, Silviu Coșa.
“We thank the generation of experience for their involvement in building a better future for Romania!”, is the message posted on the official Facebook account of the National Liberal Party (PNL).
Beyond the Government and the laws passed in Parliament, as the PNL officials pointed out, “the biggest ally of pensioners and the biggest contributor to the pension system is the private entrepreneur”.
“I had the pleasure of participating in the opening of the Summer School of the PNL Seniors Organization, one of the important pillars of the party, with an essential contribution to the vision, activity and liberal policies. The problems of the elderly occupy a relevant place in the priority agenda of the PNL. As proof, in the Liberal governments of the last three years, pensions have been increased three times.
The approach of the PNL governments has always been an integrative one, in which solidarity with the vulnerable and supporting the business environment complement each other. Senior liberals know that the greatest ally of retirees and the biggest contributor to the pension system is the private entrepreneur, who deserves to be supported, not punished.
We asked the liberal seniors to get involved in the party’s relationship with the third-age citizens, who must know the truth: the PNL opposes any empty promises and poisoned gifts, circulated by those who want to obtain an electoral profit on the back at any cost vulnerable social categories.
