PAN Deputy Chief Yandri Susanto brought up the speech of PDIP Chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri who mentioned President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) would be nothing without PDIP. PDIP DPP Chairman Djarot Saiful Hidayat said that this was a fact because PDIP always supported Jokowi.
“Indeed, Pak Jokowi can be like this because of the PDI Perjuangan. Isn’t that true? I mentioned earlier that since the mayor, governor and president and the PDI Perjuangan have always joined forces, until now they have put themselves together,” said Djarot in the Adu Perspectives discussion detikcom with Total Politics, Wednesday (15/11/2023).
He said PDIP continues to support the Jokowi government’s policies.
“When Mr. Jokowi, for example, is criticized, then bullied, with inappropriate words, we are the ones who put up bodies, including those in parliament, we also put in bodies. Whatever policy Mr. Jokowi conveys and we feel is good, if “There are people who attack us and put their bodies up. If there is no PDI Perjuangan, that’s not certain,” he added.
Moreover, said Djarot, now the government seats in parliament are very strong. He said this would certainly enable the performance of the government led by Jokowi to work optimally and quickly.
“Right now, for example, the map in parliament is very strong, 83 percent of it controls it, PAN will only join in 2022 when Pak Zul becomes minister so it is even stronger. Why do we want it like this? So that the presidential system is strong, so that the government is truly capable solve problems quickly,” he said.
“For example, yesterday’s Covid problem, because we were strong in parliament, it was easy for us to refocus on dealing with Covid. This has always been the case for the DPIP, until now it has been a body,” he continued.
Furthermore, said Djarot, when Jokowi now has different choices, he will let the people judge.
“If, for example, Pak Jokowi chooses another option, please let the people judge. The people have reason, the people have a conscience, who is right and who is wrong,” he said.
Yandri brings up Megawati’s speech
Deputy General Chair of PAN Yandri Susanto suspects that the cause of the breakdown in President Jokowi’s relationship with PDIP cannot be separated from PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri’s speech about Jokowi being nothing without PDIP. According to him, the speech caused Jokowi and PDIP to separate boats.
“I might understand that this is parting boats. Why? It was played again, a lot. For example, Mrs. Mega said, ‘This is Mr. Jokowi, if there was no PDIP there would be nothing, poor thing,'” said Yandri at the same Perspective Competition event.
Yandri suspects that Jokowi chose a different path after Megawati’s speech. Jokowi is considered to have a feeling of power and has many followers.
“Maybe, yes maybe. This is as a human being, who has a feeling of power, many followers, taking a different path,” he said.
