And Jad Al-Haq explained that the meat that a cholesterol patient is allowed to eat is white meat in the first place, such as fish, tuna, and seafood foods, with the exception of shrimp, because it contains huge levels of cholesterol, and after the aforementioned foods comes chicken, but in reasonable proportions, and it is preferable to eat it grilled.

She pointed out that it is possible to eat a little lean red Canadian meat, provided that it is eaten while grilled as well.

She added that the foods allowed for patients with high cholesterol are:

Legumes, because they contain many fibers, minerals and protein.

Avocados, as they are a rich source of monounsaturated fat and fiber, two nutrients that help lower LDL cholesterol.

Nuts, as they contain a high percentage of monounsaturated fats.

Fatty fish, such as salmon and mackerel, are excellent sources of omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for promoting heart health by increasing good cholesterol and reducing inflammation and stroke risk.

Vegetables are a vital part of a heart-healthy diet because they are rich in dietary fibre.

Fruits, as they are rich in soluble fibre.
