Arabia Weather – Planet Earth is located in the warm zone around the sun that allows life to exist. If the Earth’s location changed slightly and it approached the sun, the water would evaporate and the Earth would turn into a barren desert similar to the planets Venus and Mercury. If we moved a little away from the sun, the water would freeze on the surface of the Earth, as is the case on Mars. .
But what if the Earth doubled in size? We fixed the density rate and the mass increased eight-fold
Would your weight be different if the size of the Earth doubled?
If the mass were doubled once, the heaviness of objects on the Earth’s surface would almost double. This means that the weight of anything on Earth will double. For example, if your current weight is eighty kilograms, it will become one hundred and sixty kilograms. You can imagine what would happen if you carried a bag that weighed the same as your current weight all the time. It will be difficult to walk and you will feel tired quickly due to the extra weight. Of course, this indicates that organisms, including humans and animals, will need to develop stronger and denser skeletons to bear the additional weight. However, this increase in mass will be harmful to our health in the short term. It can lead to health problems associated with obesity and lack of physical activity, and we can also assume that people will become less active and less willing to exercise due to the excess burden of weight.
What would happen to trees if the size of the Earth doubled?
For trees, they will face problems due to the increased gravity and it will have a significant impact on their growth. Water and nutrients are transported in plants against the direction of gravity, moving from the roots to the top of the plant. If gravity increases, the energy required to lift the water up the tree will increase. Because trees produce their energy by converting sunlight into energy, if they did not have access to more converted solar energy, the water would not reach higher than half the height of the tree. Consequently, the trees will be much shorter than their predecessors and will be unable to grow normally.
The effect of the size of the Earth on the Moon
Given the increase in Earth’s size and gravity, its effects on the Moon will change, and this scene raises concerns that increased Earth’s gravity could lead to the Moon completely disintegrating, turning it into rocky rings similar to the rings of the planet Saturn.
Volcanoes, earthquakes and the effect of the size of the Earth on them
In addition, increasing the size and mass of the Earth will have additional effects such as increasing the amount of molten metal in the Earth’s interior. This will result in an increase in the temperature of the Earth’s interior. Thus, the dynamics of energy and material flows within the planet, both in its outer crust and in the Earth’s core, will increase. This could lead to greater activity of volcanoes that were dormant, and an increase in the number of active volcanoes and the intensity of their explosions. Consequently, the Earth will become more unstable overall, and we will be less able to adapt to such predictable disasters as volcanoes and earthquakes.
Despite the increase in land area and the decrease in land prices, environmental changes and other fundamental problems will make our conditions very difficult, and may not enable us to enjoy the benefits of these changes and solve the housing problem.
