SANTO DOMINGO.- Dominican producer JV Oliver believes that music production is at its best moment and that digitization has changed the way music is made today, “due to the possibilities offered by technology to unite people who are in different cities or countries.”
“With digitization, remote connectivity was gained within music studios; technology greatly opens up the spectrum of things that can be done and created, and it is relatively inexpensive, which is a great advantage for the creative process of artists”, he explained.
He added that the same is true of live events where you can virtually attend virtually any festival or concert that has streaming enabled.
“It is not the same as attending in person, but distance is no longer a barrier to being able to participate in this type of event. In fact, you can present two totally different types of experiences for the public that attends face-to-face and the one that attends virtually”.
Beginning his career in music as a drummer and now more fully in audio engineering and production, his early years were spent working and learning within the structure of the record label La Viuda Negra Records.
Then he became part of the staff of Terranota Producciones, where he continues to absorb knowledge and was mentored by the winner of 16 Grammy Awards, Allan Leschhorn.
Since then he has participated in important record productions recognized by the Grammy Awards such as “A la mar” and “Candela” by Vicente García, and “Ya no somos los mismos” by Elsa y el Mar.
He has also collaborated with La Coco Band, Rita Indiana, Alex Ferreira, Pavel Núñez, Eduardo Cabra “Residente”, Tommy Torres, Chichí Peralta, Covi Quintana, Solo Fernández, Rafa Pavón, among others.
